Jan 2013 11

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to have a one on one running mechanics session with Bobby Mcgee in Boulder, CO. I had never met him before, but he came highly recommended from several National Team coaches and Olympic athletes I have worked with.  He certainly lived up to his reputation. I found the session to be incredibly valuable, from tips and drills on how to improve posture and running efficiency to sound advice on training methodology and progression.

I was thankful that Jenna video taped the session, because every minute was chalked full of useful gems of wisdom.  It would have been tough to fully absorb everything in the moment. I will certainly reference the video in my training.

One of my primary goals for the 2013 season is to improve my running. I have no doubt that working with Bobby will help me reach that end. Not only is Bobby incredibly knowledgeable with running technique, he also specializes in preparing the mind for  the stress of racing.  I look forward to working with him again in the future. And to anyone who is looking to improve their running, I highly recommend looking him up.
